Kaede has a warm nature and very welcoming to everyone. She would tease her friends with harmless jokes from time to time.Often misunderstood by her delinquent-like appearance, she had a hard time making friends in the past. But after they get to know her, she is far from that.She is quite obedient and would do anything to make her friends happy. This leads to her being quite secretive towards them because she believes that her friends wouldn't want to be bothered by her troubles.

Kaede lost her mother after she protected her from house fire. Her father blamed her for it. He started to become violent towards her. She was often found with a new scar everyday but she hid it carefully.When she turned thirteen, she reported his father to the police after she almost died. Her father went to jail soon after and she lived with her grandmother until she died when Kaede was fifteen. From then on, she lived alone.In high school, she and her friends formed a band. She usually hung out with them during sunset and that was why she liked the sunset. She suggested the name Astrasel from two Greek Gods, Astraeus and Selene, God of the Dusk and Goddess of the Moon.
